In Piraeus, Kastelanis makes a new friend and soon impresses everyone with his skill as a cobbler and his talent as a lyra player. His uncle’s wife, however, does not look kindly upon him.
The series is based on real events. It takes us to Kythera from 1906 to 1909 and chronicles one of the largest mass murders the country has ever known. There, we meet the central figure of the story, Antonis, a peaceful shoemaker. A lovable young man, until he is unjustly slandered. The outcry of the local community forces him to leave. He makes a new start in Piraeus. Again, however, his attempt to escape falls on deaf ears. History repeats itself in the big city, filling Antonis with bitterness and anger. Now, there is only one way left for him: Revenge.
