In the Austrian region Steiermark, a decayed female body is found in a buried wooden box. When the victim is identified as Malica, Gedeon senses the Krampus Killer has struck again. At first, nobody shares his suspicion. But his reinvigorated eagerness convinces Ellie to pick up an unofficial investigation on their own. They find out that the Macedonian victim, Malica, has been reported missing back home.
After more than a year of silence, the killer strikes again. But when an outsider throws Yela and Gedeon’s investigation off track, it comes with serious repercussions. Undeterred, Yela takes her hunt dangerously close to the killer.
Ellie and Gedeon are working together again, but in secret Gedeon is looking for the artist Oskar Koschlick. After another murder, Ellie receives an important clue from journalist Charles Turek.
