A mysterious Major Gaspar commands the Chetniks in Belgrade. Prle, Tihi and Joca have to return to Belgrade posing as government officials. Unaware of their identity, the Germans, the Partisans and the Chetniks all hunt for them.
In Summer of 1944 Prle and Tihi, young yet veteran resistance fighters, together with Joca, old and moody radio-operator, are sent by Partisans to Belgrade, the Yugoslav capital still under Nazi occupation. As victorious Partisan forces approach, Prle, Tihi and Joca must continue their underground work in order to prepare the city for liberation.

Krieger remains behind in liberated Belgrade to report back to the German high command. Desperate to evacuate, he reveals Maria's betrayal and kidnaps her to aid his escape. Prle, Tihi and Mrki race against time to rescue her.
Downed American paratroopers must be saved from the German encirclement in a village near Belgrade so Mrki, Tihi and Prle hatch a plan. Krieger and Misic search Marija's building after a tip from Prle's old friend, Dragi Kenta.
Orders arrive from the Central Committee to prepare for the upcoming liberation of Belgrade so Prle recruits Moljac and his child gang to acquire beds for an improvised hospital.
